Thrive HKU is an initiative of the Department of Clinical Oncology, LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong.
Department of Clinical Oncology works closely with the HKU Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care (JCICC), established a dedicated survivorship clinic for our out-patient cancer survivors and provide psychosocial support to them.
Thrive HKU aims to provides better support to breast cancer survivors both physically and psychologically, with a goal to improve their physical activities and drug compliance with the aid of a mobile application.
The mobile application can provide patient education, symptom management and social support.
It is specific for Chinese breast cancer patients and it can improve their daily physical activities, improve medication compliance, provide medical knowledge about the disease and offer psychological support to empower their self-management capability.
The cancer survivors also cultivate a new living style with the fitbit.
This is not only bringing benefits to them, but also their families and carers.
Our vision is whenever the people seeing pink FitBit, they will think of the spirits of the breast cancer survivors.
It will be the symbol of Hope.
The FitBit is like a reminder to remind the survivors that we still have the control to continue to walk even in the difficult path.
