The objective of eGROUNDWATER is to support the participatory and sustainable management of groundwater in Mediterranean regions through the design, testing and evaluation of improved information systems (EIS).
DATA COLLECTION:
eGROUNDWATER is a citizen science-based project that will collect groundwater data by combining information provided by users and by ICT methods.
All data collected will be protected and the privacy of users is guaranteed.
ANALYSIS:
The data uploaded to the eGROUNDWATER app will be analyzed, validated and transformed into relevant inputs for groundwater flow models, their management and tools that help farmers make decisions.
APP:
The eGROUNDWATER app will display the results of the models to users, with a simple graphical interface to facilitate communication and to increase the transparency of groundwater management.
The APP collects GW data provided by farmers, earth observation technologies, and groundwater sensors.
The app includes various services that respond to the needs of farmers, such as predictive assessment of crop water requirements.
The platform and mobile app are based on an existing trading tool (Visual 5.0).
Innovative HIAs integrating citizen science and ICT-based tools to improve understanding of groundwater systems will be designed and tested, supported by participatory models and approaches.
