I'm coming too
Born from the support of the Foundation with the South, I come too is a project that aims to create an innovative service to accompany and share culture thanks to the availability and means of trained volunteers.
The project, born in Sardinia, is twinned with the Puglia Region and is currently operating within the area of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari.
We expect to expand soon throughout Sardinia and soon to the rest of Italy.
Target
Create a system of voluntary resources, united by the same passion for culture, for the accompaniment of people with limited autonomy (be it permanent or temporary) to the cultural events of your city.
How it was born
I come too comes from many years of experience in the organization of cultural events and from the need to be able to accommodate as much as possible even those who, in the absence of a companion (a family member, a volunteer, an operator), would not participate to the cultural and social city life.
These are users with special needs, permanent or temporary disabilities, the elderly, or simply users who need special support due to motor difficulties (temporary or permanent).
Vengo, too, proposes and promotes a new form of volunteering aimed at culture, through which citizens (disabled users and accompanying volunteers) meet, cultural events and transport companies with which to reach them if you do not have of a private vehicle.
Our logo
The animal that represents the Vengo project is the suricato (also called merkat), as well as the orange color, which symbolizes sociability, harmony, balance, panache, vitality and energy, which also distinguish those who join the project.
Beyond the tenderness and sympathy that merkat arouses for its merely physical characteristics, it has a very sophisticated social organization, in which each member of the group plays a specific role.
The sentinels, for example, risking their lives, supervise the safety of the group, warning the other members in case of imminent danger; moreover, they maintain their lookout position as long as all the members of the group are safe, and only then are they saved.
The social commitment of such a small and sometimes defenseless animal, in which everyone has a fundamental role, has become the spokesperson for the project I come too: a community in which the subjects are called to play their role in order to guarantee the well-being of all.
Our ethics
I'm also coming as an example of active citizenship, creates inclusion and sharing.
It facilitates the meeting between different local and public realities, and aims to create a solid territorial network within a virtuous circuit that activates the cultural and social life of our citizens.
I come too works also for the creation of a network that unites all the realities active in the world of volunteering - and not -, services to people with disabilities, cultural events that create increasingly accessible environments and places and transport companies , all professionals in the sector, in order to create a system of services that collaborate with each other, so as to eliminate any barrier to social and cultural inclusion.
Thanks to Vengo, we also network and share four different types of profiles (volunteers, users with disabilities, event organizers and transport companies) to create knowledge, support and integration between the parties.
And remember: accompaniment, in a certain sense, is always mutual.
