Welcome to the (C.A.R.E) Charlotte Area Resource Explorer! A fun and interactive way to access many of the important community resources around you! Our mission is to connect people with the places that provide the assistance that they need the most.
Resources are currently available for the greater Charlotte metropolitan area.
RAO Community Health is a 501C3 org based in Charlotte NC.
In 2018, RAO Community Health (formally known as Rosedale Assistance & Opportunities) was awarded the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) Grant by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This five year grant is designed to identify and address the racial and ethnic health disparities among two targeted populations: African Americans (priority) and Asian Americans (secondary).
We have selected five counties in North Carolina as targeted geographic locations: Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Iredell, and Anson.
As a chosen recipient of the REACH grant, we are looking to bring together members of the communities that we will be serving to build and/or expand a powerful community coalition to plan and carry out the three program strategies:
Nutrition
Physical Activity
Community-Clinical Linkages
