To provide meaningful projections of future ocean turbidity changes in the UAE, we are engaging ordinary citizens who use the ocean to measure ocean turbidity with a Secchi disk and submit their measurements to the center's database.

The project harnesses the recent, rapid advancements in the accuracy of location-aware smartphones so that everyone who uses the ocean in the UAE can contribute to the research.
