Of course it is a must for Muslims, especially UIN, IAIN and STAIN students to know the History of Islamic Civilization in the various areas mentioned above, but because of the size of the area, it is impossible to present it all at once in this simple book.
Therefore, so that the discussion will be more focused, it will be limited to the Arab region, including the Middle East, North Africa and Islamic Spain with a priodesation approach, namely during the Classical period.
Whereas in the Middle period and the Modern period requires a separate book.
Likewise discussing the history of Islam in other areas.
This book was written in order to provide lecture materials for UIN, IAIN and STAIN students under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion, and can also be reading material for those interested in Islamic studies.
Clearly, this book is organized based on the syllabus of UIN, IAIN and STAIN.
In the National IAIN curriculum in 1997, even until now in 2007, the History of Islamic Civilization is included as a component of the General Course (MKU) with a weight of 3 credits which must be followed by all students of UIN, IAIN and STAIN in all Faculties and Departments, so there is a book This is expected to be one of the reference materials for lecturers and students.
However, it is fully realized that this book is still far from perfect, both in terms of content, method of writing and analysis.
For this reason, suggestions and criticisms from readers are welcomed for the improvement of the next book.
Hopefully this application can be useful and become a loyal friend in the learning process at any time without having to be online.
