The Indonesian Standard Mushaf Al-Qur'an consists of three types: Standard Usmani Mushaf which is intended for the general public, Bahriyah Mushaf for memorizers of the Al-Qur'an, and Standard Braille Mushaf for the blind.
As a guideline for Pentashihan, Standard Al-Qur'an Manuscripts are not widely known, both in terms of history and scientific basis, although this effort has been made since the publication of the book Know Indonesian Standard Manuscripts by the Center for Research and Development of Religious Literature in 1984.
However, books that have been reprinted in 1994/1995 it was only limited to explaining the Ottoman Standard Mushaf and had not yet introduced the Bahriyah Standard Mushaf and Braille Standard Mushaf.
In addition, the historical aspect has not been touched in the book.
On that basis, LPMQ considers it necessary to have a book that explains the Indonesian Standard Mushaf of the Qur'an in a more comprehensive manner, both from historical aspects and from a scientific basis.
This book generally describes a detailed explanation of the chronology of the activities of the Al-Qur'an Ulama National Working Conference (Mukernas) from 1974 to 1974.
1983, as well as portraits of each Standard Mushaf and its development.
The study and preparation of the book History of Writing Indonesian Standard Mushaf Al-Qur'an began in 2012 by a drafting team and ended in 2013.
Apart from the book compiling team, several experts were presented as resource persons such as Dr.
KH.
Ahsin Sakho Muhammad, Dr.
Muhammad Iskandar, M.
Hum., and Drs.
H.
E.
Badri Yunardi, M.Pd.
In its journey the book received notes of improvement, both in terms of content and editorial, so that a revised edition was published in 2017.
