The app has launched a new Central Sector Scheme, "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)" to enhance the income of small and marginal farmers (SMFs).
This scheme was launched in February 2019.
Under this scheme, direct payment of Rs.
6000 per annum is to be transferred in three equal installments of Rs.
2000 every four months in the bank accounts of eligible landowning families.
Several measures are being taken by the government to reach all the eligible beneficiaries under PM-KISAN.
Public interface has been made available for self-registration, payment status check, name correction as per Aadhaar as it is an essential requirement of the scheme.
To further broaden the reach, the PM-KISAN mobile app designed and developed (updated) by Hyperstudios, an Indian developer company is being launched.
