The Eyewitness Nigeria App is designed for Nigerians to use as a tool in observing the February 2023 Nigerian electoral process.
It has an admin web portal that manages inputs and outputs from the app to ensure no misleading information is made public.
The vote text inputs appear only on the admin page, for analysis.
Users' IDs are secured.
The information that can be obtained from users who register as EMVOs (Eyewitness Monitoring Volunteer Officers) is:

Video and text reports of changes in their unit - this enables admins to reach out to the necessary agencies, e.g., INEC officers and the police.
The EMVOs also have the details of INECs EOs and police hotlines to contact where needed.

Election result counting at the unit - is usual practice that the results in the polling units are measured in the presence of everyone in the units and then recorded before they are transmitted.
We are giving the EMVOs the tool to record this section for possible post-election needs - post-election processes in court if the need arises (where manipulations are perceived to have occurred at the final collation) or for review purposes by the admin of the inputs made by the EMVOs in the app.

Our platform operates by allowing registered Nigerian individuals to act as free observers and report on events within their communities.
