Holy Writ is a bible search app that uses the Cambridge King James Bible.
It provides an easy way to search many references in the bible.
A user can search using text (a particular word he or she may be looking for) or reference (a range of references).
The reference search requires a specific syntax which is specified on the about page of the app.
The syntax is as follows:
The accepted format is the first 3 letters of the book followed by the chapter, (and/or) a colon and a verse or a range of verses or a semi-colon to separate one book reference search from another.
Examples are as follows:
Gen1 - For the entire first chapter of Genesis
Gen1: 1 - For the first verse of the first chapter of Genesis
Gen1: 1-4 - For the first 4 verses of the first chapter of Genesis
Gen1: 1-4;Exo1: 1-2 - For the first 4 verses of the first chapter of Genesis and the first 2 verses of the first chapter of Exodus.
This is a really simple but great app to have to help with quick navigation of the bible as well as studying the bible.
