The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 infection has caused, in addition to the acute symptoms known to all, the appearance of various diffuse and heterogeneous persistent symptoms in a disease called Persistent COVID.
The treatment of these patients is complex and there are still many gaps in their care.
Specifically, one of the frequent complaints of patients with a previous diagnosis of COVID is the alteration of cognitive capacity.
The prevalence is approximately 20%.
Various cognitive rehabilitation programs have benefited from incorporating the methodology of the so-called "serious games".
Serious games are games that do not have entertainment or fun as their primary goal, but are designed to train or change behavior while entertaining players.
Following the theoretical framework of "serious games", our team has designed an online training program for patients with persistent COVID (COPERIA-COG) adapted for mobile devices (Smartphone, Tablet), which facilitates its accessibility to large population groups.
The objective of the COPERIA project is, among other things, to identify differences in long-term memory in patients treated with this serious games solution compared to patients with the usual treatment.
For this, both groups will be evaluated through memory tests before and after the active group performs the online training with this solution.
In order to assess our volunteers correctly and know how they behave and score against the general population, we need to test the games they are going to play among the public.
This will allow us to know which are the most typical scores and to be able to correctly assess the degree of cognitive impairment of the patients in the trial and their degree of improvement throughout it.
Participation is voluntary, and no personal information will be requested.
We will only need you to indicate your year of birth and your sex, in order to be able to stratify the results we obtain.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation.
