Help reduce gendered inequalities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic by contributing your attitudes and perspectives on how the pandemic affects you.
The COVID-19 pandemic is a health crisis as well as a humanitarian, economic and social crisis that affects us all.
As a group, women have been hit harder by the political responses than men; an inequality which increases depending on their class, age, or migration status.
While some have worked from home and done online shopping, others are still unemployed, victims of violence, financial difficulties, or suffer physical and mental illness; all a consequence of normal societal supports being disrupted or halted during the pandemic.
RESISTIR is a 2-year research project that aims at finding sustainable solutions to these gendered inequalities and to strengthen societal resilience to outbreaks.
Your insights will contribute to increasing knowledge and understanding of existing problems, as well as current and future priorities and solutions with COVID-19 policy responses.
Your participation will contribute towards developing future policies with the aim of reducing inequalities arising during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is the purpose of the study?
This app is designed by researchers as part of the RESISTIR project (https: //resistire-project.eu/the-project/), which is an EU Horizon 2020 funded project designed to advance knowledge for the clinical and public health response to the 2019-nCoV pandemic.
The project will provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of existing problems, as well as current and future priorities and solutions.
As a result, it will contribute to the reduction of inequalities arising from COVID-19 policy and how to redress them.
What to expect if you participate
Before taking part in the study, we will ask you to complete a short set of questions about your socio-demographic background.
Once you have completed this, you will be asked to complete a survey on your attitudes on COVID-19 pandemic responses.
This research is designed as a longitudinal study tracking pandemic responses over 2 years.
We will send monthly push notifications to your device when new questions are available to answer on COVID-19 pandemic related topics.
These questions help us monitor if responses are changing over the study period and allow us to learn more about certain areas of study over time.
Do I have to take part?
Participation in this research is entirely voluntary.
Participation or non-participation in the project, and any subsequent withdrawal, are available options throughout the study process.
What are the possible disadvantages and risks of taking part?
Participating in the RESISTIR research study may involve some time commitment to set up the application and respond to study questions.
Will what I say in this study be kept confidential?
All the information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential and your data will not be shared with third parties.
The only people who will have access to the records are the members of the research team.
What should I do if I want to take part?
If you would like to participate, please download the app and complete the consent form.
The consent form can be found within the apps main menu.
You will then be able to access and answer study questions.
What will happen to the results of the research study?
Study results from this app will be analysed and shared in open-access reports at regular intervals throughout the study period.
Reports will be translated into easily readable and interactive infographics and tables be placed on the RESISTIRE projects official webpage (https: //resistire-project.eu/) for visibility and dissemination of the regularly updated project results.
