The NeuroZene application is a melodic intonation therapy for patients with nonfluenza aphasia.
The exercises included in it help patients to express themselves and find adequate sound through singing.
22 different expressions were chanted, chanted in high, deep and medium tones, with video, so the patient can observe the therapist's articulation while singing, and can easily repeat the parts where he experiences a jam by touching the syllables.
An important aspect of the application was that patients could practice with it on their own.
About therapy
The beneficial effects of singing are based on the symmetrical coordination of the two hemispheres of the brain.
While speech is associated with a more asymmetric verbal activity-dominant (mostly left hemisphere) brain activity, the intonation of sung text, singing a song, is associated with a much more symmetrical activity connecting the right and left hemispheres (Wan, Rber, & Hohmann, 2010).

Research roughly confirms that the areas responsible for verbality are observed in the left hemisphere of 95% of right-handers and 60% of left-handers (Crystal 1998), so the dominant hemisphere responsible for verbality is in the vast majority of people in the left hemisphere.
The aphasias for which melodic therapies have been shown to be effective are the so-called nonfluent aphasias associated with lesions of the anterior regions of the vertebrae-dominant hemisphere.
The other type of aphasia is fluens aphasia, which can be associated with damage to the posterior areas of the vertebrae-dominant hemisphere.
