The University headquarter is nestled in the lap of Himalayan ranges in the Tehri Garhwal and has jurisdiction over seven districts viz.
Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, is catering mainly to the needs of residents of the western part of Uttarakhand is one of the best academic institutions in the Uttarakhand State.

autonomous college, one of the best academic institutions of the newly created Uttarakhand State catering to the academic need of the western part of Uttarakhand, is the new campus of the Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University.
It was started by the state Government of undivided Uttar Pradesh as a Government College in July 1973 and is spread over 49 acres.
The Government of Uttarakhand decided to convert the college into a campus of the university vide order 730/XXIV(6)/2019-01(13)/2014 dated 06.08.2019, to justify the historical facts regarding the city as the name Hrishikesh which is a combination of two words Hrishik (senses) and esh (God or master) is the perfect place to gain the highest quality of knowledge through penance (hard work) and devotion.
Set against the backdrop of the Himalayas and with the pristine Ganga flowing through it, the ancient town is a hub of many ancient and new temples, attracting thousands of pilgrims throughout the year.
The popular belief of Hindu devotees is that performing austerities in the holy town and offering prayers in the holy temples bring the much-needed attainment of Muktior salvation.
The objectives of the University and its campus are to disseminate and advance Knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit: to make special provisions for integrated courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, and Technology in its educational programs; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in the teaching-learning process and inter-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train manpower for the development of the State and country; to establish linkages with industries and research organizations for the promotion of science and Technology in the state and to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people, their intellectual, academic and cultural development.
